Archery championship concludes

Pothashang News Service: Imphal; March 10, 2018: State Level Archery Championship 2017-18 which was launched on March 13 at the 6 Assam Rifles ground, Keithelmanbi concluded today.

The championship was organised by the 6 Sector Assam Rifles, Keithelmanbi. The competition was held in three different categories namely Indian, Recurve and Compound rounds.

Health minister L. Jayantakumar Singh said organising such competitions will indeed help to groom the young sporting talents of the state. He appreciated the Assam Riffles in the state saying that they are helping the state in many spheres. He also advised the archers of the state to work harder so that they can bring laurel of the state and the country as well.

Medals and citations were also distributed to the winners of the competition.

In the Individual Recurve (Men) Ak. Amajit clinched Gold medal while M. Malemnganba and Boipu Baite got Silver and Bronze respectively.

In the women Recurve event Th. Sanai stood first, Y. Anupama and Ksh. Manglemsana 2nd and 3nd respectively.

In Individual Compound women Sh. Manorama lifted gold while L. Dulina and  Menaka received Silver and Bronze medals respectively.

In the men section, N. Arjun, S.Rajendro and S. Somorjit stood 1st, 2nd and 3nd respectively. In the Indian round (men) Th. Heller clinched Gold while Th. Lanngamba and Mukta clinched Silver and Bronze respectively.

In the women category P. Sonia stood first while Malemnganbi and Tomthinnganbi stood 2nd and 3nd positions respectively.
