State Swachh Bharat Abhiyan office inaugurate

IMPHAL, MARCH 17, 2018 (DIPR): Shri Yashwant Singh Darbar, National Convener of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Director of Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation Ltd, Government of India, today, inaugurated the State Swachh Bharat Abhiyan office at the Airport road.

Speaking as the chief guest of the function at auditorium of Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Compound as part of inaugural function, Yashwant Singh Darbar sought cooperation from the masses in achieving the objectives of the mission.

He said various Central and State schemes will be made aware by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan team. He said apart from maintaining cleanliness, the objective of the mission also aims to achieve an Open Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2^nd October 2019 which will mark the 150^th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi.

He opined that to achieve the objectives of the mission people need to cooperate. He said the office will be inaugurated in the entire North East region.

The function was also attended by district co-conveners of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and students of various schools. Later, a cleanliness drive was also carried out at Tribal Market as part of the function.
