Final hearing of the parliamentary secretary act

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 28, 2018: The High Court of Manipur has fixed the date n April 5 for the final hearing of the petition and PILs filed before the court seeking cancellation of the impugned Manipur parliamentary secretary (appointment, salary and allowances and miscellaneous provision) Act 2012 which empowered the state to appoint parliamentary secretaries.

The petition filed by MLA, O. Surjakumar and other three MLAs was heard yesterday before the division bench of the high court comprising of acting chief justice, N. Kotiswar and justice, K. Nobin.

The BJP-led government has exercised the Manipur parliamentary secretary (appointment, salary and allowances and miscellaneous provision) Act 2012 and appointed 12 parliamentary secretaries.
