“Go To Village Mission” launched in Kangpokpi district


Kangpokpi, May 1, 2018: District Administration, Kangpokpi today launched the much awaited Chief Minister N. Biren’s innovative mission “Khungang Chatse: Go to Village” at Keithelmanbi Village under Champhai sub-division in Kangpokpi District. The launching programme was attended by Minister Social Welfare & Co-operation Smt. Nemcha Kipgen as Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi M.J. Pradip Chandren, IAS as President, Commissioner Social Welfare H. Deleep Singh, IAS as Guest of Honour along with Chairman and Members of the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council.

“Go to Village” mission is being launched simultaneously in all 60 constituencies across the State today with an aim to identify the eligible and deserving beneficiaries and to deliver government services at their doorstep. The mission has been initiated with an aim to bring inclusive development by reaching out to all the people of the State including those needy and poor people who are residing at the most interior areas.

Under the new mission, Go to Village camps to be organised every Tuesday will cover all 534 villages in Kangpokpi District. Welfare schemes such as CMHT (Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang) to provide cashless health protection up to Rs 2 Lakh per family affordable healthcare, CMST (Chief Ministergi Shotharabasingi Tengbang) for providing financial assistance to old-aged and differently-abled persons, ‘Lairik Tamhanlasi’ scheme to provide school uniforms, textbooks, etc., to school dropout students, Ujjwala scheme to provide free LPG connection to women from BPL households etc., will be delivered during the camps.

As a part of the launching programme, Nemcha Kipgen distributed welfare assistance to selected beneficiaries under various line departments. The Minister also inspected various stalls and counters of various departments.

The launching programme was also organised today at Bongjol and Aigejang villages under Saitu and Saikul sub-division respectively by the concerned SDOs.
