Vaccination be done at Government Hospitals

Imphal, May 2, 2018 (DIPR): Joint Director Family Welfare Service who is also holding the charge of Chairman, PC&PNDT Shri Th. Arunkumar appealed the public to go to the Government Hospitals for vaccination campaigns undertaken by the Government. It will also save the cost to be incurred going at Private Hospitals, he added.

This was stated by him at the Series of Press Conference organized by DIPR at Moirangkhom, Imphal.

Speaking to media Additional Director, Family Welfate Salamat Ulla stated that Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination in the state has reached 78.78%. He also appealed not to believe in any rumour spread regarding Measles-Rubella Vaccination. Parents should be well aware regarding the vaccination, he added.

Highlighting the welfare programmes taken up by the department he added, above the 89.89% target achieve in 2010-11 for pulse polio immunization, the department has achieved 100.81% in 2017-18.

Intensified Mission Indradhanush has also been launched in Churachandpur, Chandel, Ukhrul and Tamenglong with mass campaign in four stages, he added.

Pregnant and mothers within 2years of post-delivery are given benefit under IAI. Vaccine Stores and Vaccine Points has also been set-up under the Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network in the state. Above the existing welfare programmes, the Government is committed to launch new welfare programmes.
