‘R 7’ drug worth Rs. 2 crores seized

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 4, 2018: Customs division, Imphal today seized ‘R 7’ (drug) tablets from a non-local resident in Imphal.

The officers of anti-smuggling unit of customs division, Imphal seized one lakh amphetamine tablet brand called “R 7” of foreign origin were seized from a person at North AOC near Sulabh toilet complex. The person who ferried the drug is Sujit Das, 39, son of late Niranjan Das, resident of Saiton Nganu Khun, Bishnupur district.

He has been arrested and further investigation is going on to nab the other persons involved in the drug racket, said R.K Darendrajit Singh, assistant commissioner, Customs division, Imphal.

He said Sujit ferried the drug for he would get a commission of Rs 1 per tablet.
