Media should bridges the gaps between the government and the public: Biswajit

Imphal,7th May,2018 (DIPR): IPR Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit Singh has called on the media to played an important role in bridging the gaps between the government and the public. He was speaking on the occasion of 6th Devarshi Narad Jayanti held at Manipur press Club which was organised by Vishwa Samvad Kendra,Manipur.

Minister asserted that media should published quality news for the development of the society and they should be a good mediator between the government and the public. People’s voice should be reflected and at the same time government ‘s initiative should be reflected by the media,he added.

Minister maintained that media should played important role in bridging the gaps between the government and the public. If there is misunderstanding between the government and the public, there will be no peace and development in the society. He called upon the media fraternity to  refrain from publishing fake news and other news which will create communal tension in the society.

He also recalled the role by Devarshi Narad  during the mythological era.

In connection with Devarshi Narad Jayanti, Narad Journalist award for the year 2018 was conferred to editor of Sanaleibak Daily, Shri Hidangmayum Achouba Sharma, recognising his contribution in the field of journalism .

Member of All India Toli,Prachar Vibhag Shri Umesh Upadhyay also delivered a lecture on Social Media, Media world and News Media’.

The celebration was also attended by members of Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Manipur.
