State agrees to provide 7th Pay scale, effective next year


Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 8, 2018: Manipur government has agreed to extend the 7th Pay Commission benefits to the employees and pensioners of the government with the Fitment Factors of 2.57 notionally with effect from January 1, 2016 and actually with effect from April 1, 2019.

The government agreed this during a negotiation held with representatives of Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA), Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) and Manipur State Pensioners’ Union (MSPU) today with state government under the chairmanship of the chief minister.

An agreement was signed with the employees’ organisations and the government.

It was also agreed that the benefits of 7th Pay Commission with the allowances at pre-revised rate (at actual amount paid as on today) will be deposited to GPF accounts for the period April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

The 7th Pay benefits with revised allowances will be paid in cash with effect from April 1, 2020.

The government will address the problems faced by the work charged, muster roll and casual employees sympathetically and settle at the earliest.

The MSSA and MGSF and MSPU have agreed to call off the agitation with immediate effect.

Joint Administrative Council of AMTUC and AMGEO is against the agreement as they demand the pay scale to be effective from January 1, 2016.
