One dies, another hospitalised

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 9, 2018: One non-local died and another injured when a masked man opened fire when they were on the way to fetch grocery items at Lamphel nearby the police station this evening.

The incident took place at around 6: 30 pm along the Inter village road of Langol Tarung near Rongmei Naga Baptist Church, Lamphel.

The deceased was identified as Montu Paswan, 20, son of  Rajiram Paswan of Motihari Bihar. He was hit at the belly. The injured person was identified as Chandan Paswan 18, son of Ranjit Paswan of Motihari Bihar got bullet injury at the right thigh.

According to Sunil Paswan younger brother of the deceased said the incident happen few meter from their work place where they are engaged in construction work near the Rongmei Naga Baptist Church.

After their work four of them went out to buy their grocery items in the nearby shop an unknown person wearing a cap and mask on his face approached toward them and fired indiscriminately and fled away taking the advantage of darkness.

Both the injured persons was rushed to the RIMS hospital for treatment where Montu Paswan succumbed to his injury while Chandan Paswan has been taken to Shija hospital.

The body of Montu has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.

Police has taken up a case to the incident.
