Public convention held on border issue

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 16, 2018: A one-day Public convention on ‘the disputed border pillars along Manipur boundary’ was held today at Gandhi Memorial hall here, participated by representatives of various  civil society organisations and political parties.

The convention has resolved to resurvey the border pillars at Indo-Myanmar border.

The gathering also resolved that the resurvey would be conducted by a representative team of UCM, villagers at the border, Manipur government, Survey of India along with local experts.

It was resolved to first learn the 1967 boundary agreement which refers the traditional boundary ahead of the resurvey.

The meeting decided to work out together with the people the resolutions taken in the public convention.

The convention was organised by United Commitee Manipur (UCM) in association with People of Manipur.
