Meeting on De-Worming, Cad held at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, July 23, 2018 (DIPR):  The District Level Coordination Committee meeting for the second round of the National Deworming Day was held at the Conference Hall of the New Mini-Secretariat today. The meeting was organised by the District Health Society, Bishnupur, chaired by Pawan Yadav, Chairman of the Society.

Minute discussions were held on the micro-plans on the implementation of National Deworming Day (NDD) and the time table for its implementation.

The National Deworming Day will be launched for the district on the 9th August, 2018 and observed on the 10th and 17th of August. Private school representatives, DLOs who are also member of the coordination committee attended the meeting.

It may be mentioned that Albendazole tablets were administered to 72,180 students during the first round of NDD which accounted to 94.5% of the target population.

Meanwhile, the Childline Bishnupur also conducted the 1st Childline Advisory Board (CAD) meeting 2018-19 today, chaired by Pawan Yadav, Chairman of the Board at the same venue with L. Pishak Singh, Director of Childline Bishnupur presiding over the meeting.

The meeting resolved that Labour, Social Welfare Departments and Childline should form child labour task force in the district in accordance with any existing guideline, conduct a consultative meet on POCSO, JJ Act and RTE with the DI, AI, Headmasters of the schools etc. after due discussion with the ZEO and recognized the need for establishing care and rehabilitation of children with drugs and substance abuse.

The meeting also resolved to start drug and substance abuse awareness campaign in the district and establish village level child protection committee in each and every Gram Panchayat with the help of DCPO/DCPU of the district. The meeting was attended by the members of Childline Advisory Board and Childline Bishnupur.
