Government declares transparent Physical Test in fire service recruitment


Pothashang News Service: Imphal July 24, 2018: Manipur government today declared that the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for the recruitment of 139 different posts of Manipur Fire Service will be held in a transparent manner with full video recording.

Government spokesperson MLA P. Saratchandra talking to reporters at a press conference held at the Durbar hall of the chief minister’s secretariat on Tuesday said the state government understands the urgent need for filling up the vacancies of the Manipur Fire Service.

The new step has been conceptualised to ensure transparency and check manipulation of performance in the recruitment process, he added.

A senior IPS officer has been appointed as the director of the Manipur Fire Service so that it may function independently.

Manipur Fire Service director R.K. Meme said everybody is welcome to lodge any complaint regarding the recruitment process so that appropriate action would be taken if any staff misconducts in the recruitment process.

The Physical Efficiency Test begins tomorrow and continue till August 25 at Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
