Teacher aspirants appeal for posts

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 27: Philosophy scholars today appealed the state government to create higher secondary lecturers posts for Philosophy after Thang-Ta teacher aspirants agitated for their posts at the department complex on Thursday.

Premkumar Singh, a philosophy scholar told reporters at Manipur Press Club here the government has recently announced to recruit 688 higher secondary school teachers in 22 disciplines. It is unfortunate for us that no philosophy teacher’s post has been included in the recruitment notice, he added.

The government is in fact discriminating the youth who have studied the subject. We had approached the concerned minister and high ranking officials of the department. But has been kept unconsidered even if they replied to deal over the appeal, said the youth.

He said there are required posts in schools in various subjects, but the posts are not created.
