Gold recovered from body cavity

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 28, 2018: Officers of Customs Preventive Force, Pallel on Friday seized 25 gold biscuits of foreign origin from four persons when they were checked in front of the customs check gate at Pallel in Chandel district.

The four persons were identified as Abdul Warish, 29, resident of Lilong, Thoubal, Rajak Khan, 28,  of Nungei, Thoubal, Md. Rajaoddin, 27,  of  Lilong Khunou, Thoubal, and Bm. Samir, 15 , of Tarahei Konjil, Hiyangthang, Imphal West,

The gold biscuits were recovered from their body cavity (rectum), said R.K. Darendrajit Singh, assistant commissioner, revenue.

He said the gold biscuits are of foreign origin. The biscuits weigh 4150 gm and values over Rs 1 crore and 25 lakh.

A van possessing registration number MN-04A-5143 used for transporting the contraband gold was also seized.
