Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away, state declares holiday

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 16, 2018: Ministry of home affairs has today announced the death of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former prime minister of India at AIIMS hospital, New Delhi.
The ministry mention that as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary mourning will be observed throughout India from today till August 22.
During this period the national flag will be flown half mast on all the buildings throughout the State where it is regularly flown. There will be no official entertainment during the mourning period.
The Manipur government today declared holiday on August 17 for all government offices and government educational institutions on the demise of the national leader.
All banks in Manipur will also remain closed on August 17.
