Biren was addressing a news conference at the Darbar Hall of the chief minister’s Bungalow in presence of health minister L. Jayantakumar of National People’s Party and members of NEIDP led by its president-in-charge Elangbam Brojendro among other BJP members.
In view of preparation ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha, BJP has been looking for ally with likeminded teams in Manipur while BJP and likeminded parties in Delhi are preparing together for the big election, he added.
Biren said as BJP is a committed party it has been looking for parties with commitment, and fortunately we get NEIDP and agreed to go together. BJP is a committed party and it does what it says.
Even if NEIDP is a new political party it has several reference organisations which indulge in innovative ventures targeting to promote the state’s youth in the international arena for making Manipur developed. Making Manipur does not end with safeguarding territorial integrity. It needs making the people able to become self reliant. Seeing this contribution and dream of NEIDP we approach them to ally with BJP, said the chief minister.
Brojendro said we came to the agreement to help one another in solving the burning issues and problems that hinders development in the state. NEIDP believes that every section of the society needs involvement in solving the problems in the state. Working together with the people we can fill up the development gaps and resolve issues that are making Manipur unrest, he added.
