Biren inaugurates production units of Salai

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 7, 2018: Manipur chief minister on Friday inaugurated Edible Oil and Refinery Plant, Rice Milling Plant and Mushroom Cultivation with Research and Development Unit of Salai Agro Private Unit at Lairenkabi Maning Leikai, Imphal West.
Biren Singh said that private discontents should not create problems to the public of the state.
He said Manipur is a unique place in terms of its climate, weather, food, culture etc. and there is no other place like Manipur in the planet. However, frequent bandhs and blockades affect the State’s economy. Such bandhs and blockades also affect the tourist flow in the state, he added.
Mentioning that the government is working towards the welfare of the people, Biren said his government has initiated various people centric schemes to have better governance in the state. Government is for the people of the state welcomes constructive and positive criticism for the development of the state, he added.
Biren said that it is indeed encouraging to hear that the Salai Private Limited is providing employment to more than 1500 people directly and thousand others indirectly. He mentioned that we need to strengthen the private sector so as to counter the effects of globalisation in the state. Many lessons could be learned from Salai, he added. He appealed the people of the state to become a job provider and a not job seeker. We need to maintain a work culture for development of the state. He gave his best wishes to the Salai group in their future endeavour.
Stating the benefits of organic farming, chief minister mentioned that large numbers of people are being diagnosed with Cancer and other killer diseases which might be due to the usage of chemicals and fertilizers during farming in the state. We need to have a research centre to find out the root causes of such deadly diseases, he added.
The chief minister also inaugurated Spices Unit of Salai Agro Products Private Limited at Lamboikhongngangkhong and Automated Concrete Hollow Block and Pavers Production factory of Salai Construction Private Limited at Moidangpok.
