AMSU 100 Hours Blockade Affects Vehicular Movement in Imphal-Jiri Highway

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 9, 2018: The 100-hour national highway-37 blockade imposed by All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) from yesterday midnight has affected vehicular movement on the Imphal-Jiribam road.

The total blockade is imposed against the government failure to book the culprits involved in harassing AMSU cultural team at Nungba Bazar on September 3 evening by cadres of NSCN-(IM).

AMSU cautioned to intensify its agitation if the state government fails to book the culprits within this blockade.

Its vice-president Victor Laishram said simply promising on the media is not the solution.

The illegal taxes collection, harassment and psychological threats to the passengers, drivers and villagers within the Manipur territory by NSCN-(IM) must be brought to an end, Victor said.

AMSU volunteers are fully carrying out the blockade at Kotlen and Jiribam areas along the NH 37, Imphal-Jiri road.

Slogans were raisedm to flush out NSCN-(IM) from Manipur territory during the total blockade.
