Ukhruls’s model horticulture centre functions sound

Pothashang News Service: Ukhrul, September 13, 2018 : Horticulture and soil conservation minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar today inspected Model Horticulture Centre, a project implemented by the department under the North Eastern Council funding at Ngarumphung village, Ukhrul district.

The project costs Rs 1.5 crore.

Shyamkumar said he is happy that the department officials have properly implemented the project at the Ngarumphung village. Stating that it is the only Model Horticulture Centre in the Ukhrul district, he informed that such projects are also implemented at districts of Tamenglong, Kangpokpi and other valley districts. He informed that he will soon inspect the development of the projects at the other districts.

He advised the department officials to make the vermicompost pit and solar panels fully functional at the Ngarumphung model horticulture centre. He also asked the officials to keep the surroundings need and clean in order to boost the morale of the farmers so that they can contribute to their maximum level.

The state government is fully committed to provide assistance to the beneficiaries of the state. The centre will help the farmers in providing livelihood, he said, and appealed the officials to properly implement various projects for the welfare of the people.
