Biren promises Rs 9.12 crore worth water supply at Kakching Khunou

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 18, 2018: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has today promised to present a water supply scheme to Kakching Khunou people of Kakching district that will be soon constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.12 crore.
He made the announcement during a Go to Village camp at Kakching Khunou.
Detailed project report of the project had already been submitted and the sanction order is being awaited, Biren said. Considering the inconvenience faced by the people of the area at the time of medical emergency, the chief minister also said Primary Health Centre, Kakching Khunou would be made operational round the clock by deputing three more doctors soon.
State government would also consider repairing of Kakching Khunou market shed, he added. He also said that the local playground would also be revamped under Khelo India scheme.
The chief minister also conveyed that apart from constructing Transit Accommodations for government employees in hill/interior areas, new vehicles had already been acquired for distribution to different districts to ensure reaching of governance to the people of hill districts/interior areas.
Speaking at the occasion, CAF and PD minister Karam Shyam observed that elected representatives of local bodies and local club volunteers should take proactive role in making the mission successful, and giving awareness about the mission to the public.
Forest and environment minister Th. Shyamkumar said the government has been able to bring government schemes and services at the doorstep of the common people with the introduction of the mission.
Manipur Legislative Assembly deputy Speaker K. Robindro, MLA H. Dingo, Councillors and chairperson of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council, additional chief secretary (forest and environment/works) and state level nodal officer of the mission Dr. Suhel Akhtar, additional chief Secretary (agriculture/CADA) Letkhogin Haokip, principal secretary (commerce and industry) P. Vaiphei and Kakching DC Neilenthang Telien were also present at the occasion.
Benefits under different government schemes were distributed to selected beneficiaries.
