Combing operation continuous in Imphal city

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 22, 2018: Manipur Police continues cordon and search operations in Imphal city since Sunday following the grenade blast at Nagamapal that killed one CRPF personnel injuring another on Saturday evening.

The police measures have been taken up measures to thwart any unwanted incident in and around Imphal areas.

Today a team of Imphal West District Police commando under the supervision of superintendent of police Imphal West H. Jogeshchandra conducted search combing operation at Kakhulong in Paona Bazar area.

During the operation at Kakhulong  22 male individuals who were unable to provide proper verification and identification documents were detained and taken at City Police station for further verification.

The combing operation was conducted after a team of Imphal West district police commando conducted a combing operation at Dharamshala, Thangal Bazar yesterday.

Chief secretary Suresh Babu during wreath laying ritual, for the departed CRPF personnel Umesh M. Helavar (from Karnataka), held at Imphal airport on Sunday said the government will not remain silent against the heinous act and the culprits involved in the incident will be booked soon.

The injured CRPF personnel M. Ramarajan who is from Tamil Nadu is still at the ICU of the hospital.
