Poverty is the main cause of social chaos, says minister Jayantakumar

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 26, 2018: Health and family welfare minister L. Jayantakumar Singh has expressed that poverty is the main cause for social disorder in a society while addressing at the inaugural function of the skilled development centre of Oinam Ibohal Polytechnic at Keisampat Leimajam Leikai, Imphal.

Jayantakumar said that creation of job for the unemployed people will solve the problem of social disorder and disharmony. He maintained that the available human resources in the state need to be explored and suitable placement for those skilled and unskilled people are necessary to be arranged.

The minister further said that opening of such skill development centres will supplement the storeroom of our human resource. The government has been providing machines and equipment to the eligible private individuals, Self Help Groups (SHG) and voluntary organisations. Technical knowhow of the machines and equipment is necessary. Such skill development centres will train the individuals regarding the handling and proper utilisation of those machines and equipment, he added.

He also appealed the public to cooperate with the initiatives of the government in this regard. He also sought public participation and urged the unemployed youths to join such skill development trainings.
