Manipur State Cooperative Bank Limited contributes Rs 5 lakh for Sangai festival

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 28, 2018: Manipur State Cooperative Bank Limited (MSCB) sponsored a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs for the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival 2018. The managing director of MSCB A. Subash Singh and other officials handed over the cheque to chief minister N. Biren Singh in the presence of director tourism W. Ibohal Singh at a solemn ceremony held at chief minister’s secretariat today.

Biren Singh said it is a sign of positive development that people are extending their support and co-operation for grand success of the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival 2018. He mentioned that more individuals and companies are approaching the government for the sponsorship of the upcoming Sangai Festival 2018.

The princess of Thailand and chief ministers of Sagaing and Mandalay region of Myanmar will be joining the Manipur Sangai Festival. He further mentioned that for the first time in the history of Manipur, the U.S. Ambassador to India will also be present during the Festival. The Manipur Sangai Festival 2018 would be held at Keibul Lamjao in Bishnupur, Hapta Kangjeibung and Lamboikhongnangkhong in Imphal and Mao, he added.

Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Limited had also donated a sponsorship amount of Rs. 5 lakhs for the Festival.
