Public utility convenience launched

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 31, 2018: Public utility convenience was inaugurated minister of revenue, consumer affairs, food and public distribution Karam Shyam with the launching of mobile van delivery of 5 kg free trade LPG cylinders at Sinam Shyama Devi Town Hall, Chingmeirong, Imphal today.

Shyam  expressed that today signifies a day of sacrifice as it is the first time in the history of  Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to render public utility conveniences for the service of our society.

Congratulating the noble initiative of the IOCL, the minister said out of 294 proposals put forward by the chief minister, 50 have been approved by IOCL and they sanctioned Rs.3.9 lakhs to implement the projects.

According to the new mechanism of mobile van delivery of 5 kg free trade LPG cylinders, one can buy cylinder including refill, pressure regulators and suraksha host by paying a total amount of Rs.1,784.01, Shyam said. Once the cylinder is bought, one can avail of the facility to get it at a minimal price of Rs.493 when urgently needed, he also added.

“With this new delivery system, dilemma of gas scarcity will be solved and black-market issues will be minimised”, he assured.

Addressing the gathering, Uttiya Bhattacharyya, Indian Oil AOD State Office, said that they are ready to shoulder corporate social responsibility in any field of public concern including biotech or environment protection. He also stated that they have planted more than 1.5 lakh trees to support the mission.

Red cylinders are meant for domestic consumption only while blue ones are to be used for commercial or industrial purposes, he also informed.

Public utility conveniences were handed over to Chingmeirong Maning Leikai as part of the function. Meanwhile, there was also yoga demonstration by members of the Patanjali Yoga Samiti.

Aconsumer needs to just show his identity proof at the mobile van service to buy an Indane 5 kg LPG FTL cylinder. The new process is also easier to handle and buy.

Officials of IOCL, doctors, nurses and members of the Patanjali Yoga Samiti took part in the function.
