30 acres of Poppy cultivation at Sikibong range destroyed

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 15, 2018:  In continuation of destruction of poppy cultivation in Manipur a combined team of NAB, 7 MR, Ukhrul district police, Phungyar police, Imphal East police, NCB, Litan police, Phungyar SDM, forest department led by superintendent of  police, NAB, Manipur destroyed 30 acres of poppy cultivation at  Sikibong hill range today.

The poppy cultivation was found taken up at different location of the hill range. A total of 171 personnel took part in the destruction of the poppy plants.

The destroyed plantation would yield around 210 kg of opium that would worth Rs. 1 crore and five lakhs.
