Security beefed up for Sangai festival

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 17, 2018: As a part of the preventive measures of the up-coming Sangai Festival 2018 state police has been taking up cordoned search operations and frisking and checking in Imphal and different parts of the state.

Today Bishnupur police and a column of 42 Assam Rifles conducted cordoned search operation at Karang village. During the operation around 115 houses, 205 persons including  women were verified at the spot.

Imphal East police also took up the same operation along the stress from Macha Leima to Mahabali area. During the operation, 265 males and 99 females were verified out of which 16 males and 7 females were detained and handed over to Poropmpat police for further verification.

Yesterday too Imphal East police conducted cordon and search operation at Hatta Golapati area. During the operation, 276 males and 97 females were verified out of which 15 males and 7 females were detained for further verification.
