BSF inspector general takes stalk of blast in Assembly complex

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 18, 2018: The inspector general of the Mizoram and Cachar Frontier of BSF, Headquarters Silchar (Assam) Dr K C Mahali, reached Imphal on November 17 to take stock of the situation. He visited the state Assembly complex and carried out thorough inspection in and around the campus to study and work out if any amendment or rectification is required regarding security measures.

A press statement released by BSF said it takes serious note of the incident that took place on November 16, where twin Chinese hand grenades was thrown in and blasted at the sentry post of state Legislative Assembly Complex injuring three persons including one BSF personnel and two Assembly security staffs.

Mahali had instructed BSF officers to enhance the security of state Assembly complex and to remain vigil round the clock and also to carry out Anti sabotage checking. He had recommended various methods to be manned the periphery of the Assembly complex by employing latest electronical gadgets and manpower to foil any attempt of anti National elements. After spot verification and taking security audit of the Assembly complex he visited Manipur High Court complex and briefed the BSF officers and troops to remain alert. Later in the evening, he has called on the director general of police Manipur and discussed about the matter and other issues connected with security. His visit in the state at this point of time is a morale boosting factor for BSF troops and will be greatly beneficial in bringing about a positive change about security measures, said the press statement.
