One arrested in connection with blast at Manipur Assembly

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 18, 2018: Manipur police has arrested one assistant sub inspector of Manipur Legislative secretariat in connection with the blast that triggered inside the Assembly complex on November 16 injuring three security personnel.
UNLF yesterday claimed responsible for the attack.
Superintendent of police of Imphal West H. Jogeschandra addressing reporters at his office said the state police is carrying out intensive investigation during which Yumnam Deben Singh, 56, a resident of Nambol Maibam Chingmang, Bishnupur district was arrested.
Jogeschandra said on receiving reliable information in connection with the blast a team of Imphal West Police went to the Manipur Legislative secretariat and met Deben.
Deben admitted that he had frequently contacted with the UNLF members about some works and therefore he was arrested arrested at 7 pm. He disclosed that he had received Rs 1, 31, 000 from one self style Major Panthoibi of UNLF. The sum has been seized. He is highly suspected to be involved in the attack, said the superintendent of police.
Jogeschandra said , we hope we will soon arrest the perpetrators.
