Thai Princess visits Kangla

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 28, 2018: Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess of Kingdom of Thailand visited historic Kangla today. She was accompanied by Thailand Ambassador to India, Shri Chutintorn Gongsakdi, officials of Royal Thai Embassy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, media team from Thailand and officials of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

The Princess was received by Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh, Art and Culture Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar and Titular King of Manipur, Shri Leishemba Sanajaoba. The Princess had a brief interaction with them before they went on a sightseeing tour of the fort in battery operated vehicles. She visited Kangla Museum, Shri Shri Govindaji Temple and Ibudhou Pakhangba Temple.

It may be mentioned that on a two-day visit to the State, the Princess arrived at Imphal in a special flight yesterday. She along with Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh and other dignitaries of Thailand and Manipur witnessed cultural evening of the ongoing Manipur Sangai Festival at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) last night.

Earlier today, Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also visited Sendra and Keibul Lamjao in Bishnupur District. During her visit, she watched Sangai from the Watch Tower and also took a boat ride from Chingmei to Toya Ching.
