US ambassador attends Sangai festival

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 29, 2018: US ambassador to India Kenneth Juster on Thursday attended Manipur Sangai Festival and witnessed the cultural performances at Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal.

The US ambassador said, we want to have a very positive relationship with the state and to enhance a relationship in every and many ways possible. I am especially pleased to be here with the Sangai festival and to share in the incredible traditions and customs of this great state.

Juster said he had a personal meeting with the chief minister N. Biren Singh and the governor Najma Heptulla this morning and forward to see more Manipur as well.

Juster will visit the Kangla Fort on Friday morning and briefly see the Govindaji temple.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh, extending a warm welcome to Kenneth Juster, and Ms. Patricia Hoffman, consulate general, said on his post, “we deeply appreciate the heartfelt concern shown by the US Ambassador for development of the state”.

Talking to reporters Juster said “I really want to get to know all of the states of North East better…. and certainly the ties between United States and Manipur are very important and so we look forward to those things as well”.
