CM sows rabi crop seeds

Imphal, 10th December, 2018: Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh sowed mustard and pea seeds at Naharup Makha Pat Chandam Loukon, Imphal east today as part of ‘Rabi Crop Campaign 2018’,

Visiting numerous fields of Chandam Loukon by foot, Chief Minister personally speak with farmers and cultivators of the area and advised for keeping fields green throughout the year for self sustainability.

During the launching ‘Rabi Crop Campaign’ launching programme, he said that the government is committed in uplifting the lives of people and to bring positive changes in the State. It is the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to double farmers’ income by 2022 in the country, he added.

The programme was organised by Department of Agriculture and Manipur Farm Enterprises Private Limited. MLA Khetrigao Assembly Nahakpam Indrajit, Director (Agriculture), Ph. Rajendro, officials of the Agriculture Department, farmers and women folks attended today’s programme.

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister himself launched the ‘Rabi Campaign 2018’ at Haotal Pangei, Imphal East on 2nd December, 2018 with an objective to help the farmers increase their productivity and achieve higher yield during Rabi season.
