Spot inquiry conducted

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, December 27, 2018: A team of a commission formed against the death of a pregnant woman, identified as Joy Premi alias Naocha wife of Binison Yumnam, 28, who was found hanged at Haokha Mamang Leikai under Thoubal Police station on Tuesday, conducted a spot inquiry.

The team was lead by professor Meinam Binota, chairperson of the commission, accompanied by Dr. Farida Shah, Soibam Neelima Devi, member of the commission along with staff of the commission.

The commission team first visited at the site where sit-in were being carried out at Thoubal Bazar and interacted with the parental family and relatives of the deceased.

Later, the team visited the deceased husband resident and interacted with the husband family and locality to find out the actual cause of the death.

The deceased mother Sorojini Khumanthem claims that Joy Premi alias Naocha called her repeatedly that she was being tortured by her in-laws and pleaded to come and save her and the allegation that Naocha had hung herself is false.
