Shyamkumar inaugurates newly constructed building of Nongbrang Primary School

Imphal, December 30, 2018: Forest & Environment, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, MAHUD and Town Planning Minister Shri Thounaojam Shyamkumar today inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Nongbrang Primary School constructed under the joint funding of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Government of India and MLA Local Area Development Fund.
Addressing to the gathering at the inaugural function, Minister Th. Shyamkumar said that education is essential and vital for the development of the State and appealed to the local residents to get their children admitted to the school. He said the focus should be given at imparting education to the students at the grassroots level.
Speaking regarding the Nongbrang Primary School, he said that the addition of a pre-nursery class will ease the problems of the parents and help the young children to learn from early stage. Advising to the local residents to form a committee so that the school requirements can be timely intimated to him and to the authorities, he assured full cooperation from his side regarding lack of teachers and their salaries.
He said education will be imparted to the 80 students of the primary school using latest technology and all the other requirements will be fulfilled at the earliest. He said the focus is on the all round development of the Government schools in the constituency for which cooperation is needed from everyone. He sought cooperation from everyone in the revival of the Government schools in the State.
Minister Shyamkumar further advised the local residents of Nongbrang to wisely utilise their paddy fields and plant vegetables and crops. He said after harvesting paddy most of the paddy fields are left empty which is not helping the farmers/people of the State, rather if a person plants vegetables and crops it will help in generating more income.
Smt. Kh. Thasana Leima, Pradhan Tumukhong Moirangpurel Gram Panchayat, Shri Kh. Heramot Meeitei, President Adult Committee Nungbrang and local residents of the area attended the function. (DIPR)
