Police seizes WY tablets

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 2, 2019: A police team of Jiribam Police has seized WY tablets worth about Rs. 97,790 on December 31, 2018, said a police statement.

In a press release by superintendent of police M. Mubi Singh, Jiribam the contraband WY tablets were seized from one person travelling at one Tata sumo bearing registration number AS/11AC/2750 white in colour by a team of Jiribam Police led by ASI A. Krishna Sharma after chasing the vehicle who fails to comply the frisking and checking of vehicles plying carried out by the police team along the NH-37.

When thorough checking after taking the vehicle at the complex of Jiribam Police Station, 9 packets of WY tablets altogether 1778 WY tablets piece concealed in a trolley bag red in colour was detected.

The owner (passenger) of the bag has been identified as one Md. Khushed Ali (55 yrs), son of (Late) Md. Biraj Mahamed of Yajilhara Village of Koilasor District, Tripura under Orani Poluce Station.

Md Khushed Ali was arrested along with the seized contraband WY tablets after formalities.

A case has been registered at Jiribam Police Station for further investigation, the press release said.
