Security operation for smooth R’Day

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 21, 2019: As a part of security measures taken up for smooth functioning of the Republic Day Celebration, police today conducted cordon and search operation at different parts of Imphal.

In Imphal West a cordon and search operation was conducted at Wahengbam Leikai, Paona Bazar at Keishampat and at Bapupara.

At Waheng Leikai, altogether 663 persons were conducted at the spot and 31 persons who failed to provide their identification proof were picked up and handed over to City Police station for further verification.

At Paona Bazar 546 persons were verified while 27 persons were picked up for further verification.

At Keishampat altogether 40 houses and residents were verified and at Bapura 220 people residing in 45 houses were verified. No one was picked up in both the operation.

In Imphal East cordon and search operation was conducted at Khongman Mangjil by a team of Imphal East Commando including women police where seven persons who failed to provide their identification proof were handed over to Irilbung Police station for further verification.
