Training program on identification of ‘disabilities’ held

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 21, 2019: Once day training program on “Early Identification and Intervention for Children with Disabilities” was today held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

It was organised by National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan), NIEPID, Secunderabad, department of empowerment of persons with disabilities (ministry of social justice and empowerment), Manovikas Nagar, Secunderabad in collaboration with State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the event, secretary State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur Chakpam Lokeshwori decried over the state government failure to turn up at such event and not having appropriate interest for the differently abled persons.

She appeals the state government and concern department to put more emphasis at events organised for differently abled persons in the state.

The organisor of the event expected at least 100 participants but didn’t turn up at their expectations, Chakpam Lokeshwori asserts.

Certificates were distributed to the differently abled persons during the event.
