220 acres of poppy plantations destroyed

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 2, 2019: Poppy plantations at about 220 acres grown at Lamkhang Khunyai and Lamkang  Khunkha hill ranges by a team of Tengnoupal district police.

According to police source the poppy plantations would have the potential of yielding 1540 kg of Opium that would value around Rs. 7 crores 70 lakhs.

The team comprised of SP Tengnoupal Dr S. Ibomcha Singh, additional SP,  Tengnoupal Kh. Robinsun,  DSP Tengnoupal N. Suraj, DSP CDO Thomas Thokchom,  OC Tengnoupal Inspt John Lamkang, in-charge  CDO Moreh N. Jatishwor,  NAB team  led by SP Watham Basu Singh, NCB team led by superintendent of Imphal Sub Zone, Vikash Kumar,  Chandel District Police led by DSP Chandel M. Bimolchandra Singh,  DC Chandel represented by SDC Farizuddin Khan, DC Tengnoupal represented by SDC  A. Charan Singh.
