Jugindro expelled for ‘misappropriation’ of MPP fund

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 18, 2019: Manipur People’s Party president Oinam Jugindro was expelled from the party allegedly for misappropriation of party’s fund.
Laikhuram Apabi Singh was appointed as new president of the party.
Apabi Singh during a press conference held yesterday at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal, said he was expelled as decided by the central committee for involving in embezzling of party’s fund and anti-party activities, and act against the directives of the party.
He said Jugindro has been continuing the activity not in connection with politics but for the benefit of some groups of people. The party was formed with the motto to promote the regional party of Manipur and to bring new ideas and thoughts for the welfare of the people of the state, Apabi said.
Some members of the party threatened the members of the central committee under the influence of Jugindro against the order of central committee of MPP, he added.
