Manipur band “The Wishes” creates history

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 18, 2019: Manipur band “The Wishes” creates history by becoming winner of the 1st North East Multimedia Campaign 2019 held at Kohima today. Eight bands representing each Northeastern states compete during the mega event.
The 1st North East Multimedia Campaign was organized by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society under the aegis of National AIDS Control Society (NACO) under the theme “Northeast United against HIV/AIDS” with the aim of creating HIV/AIDS awareness among youth in the region. The event was supported by AHF India and FHI 360.
Manipur band The Wishes was adjudged winner, Nagaland band “Luli Yeptho & the Band” and Sikkim Band “Roll Heads” stood First and second runners up respectively. The winners received cash prizes of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 75,000/- and Rs. 50,000/- respectively. All the participating bands were also given consolation prize of Rs. 30,000/- each.
The mega event was inaugurated by Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri. S. Pangnyu Phom with the presents of Dr. Naresh Goel, Deputy Director General NACO.
The Wishes comprises of Bishikanta Thounaojam (BC) – Vocal, Megha Salam (Izzy Naw) – Guitar, Bona Sorensangbam ( Bona So) – Guitar, Chingkhei Nongthombam (CK) – Drums, Maverick Ayekpam (Fink) – Bass Guitar and Kapil Arya as Manager of the band.
