Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 13, 2019: The Election Commission of India (ECI) says the Photo Voter Slip (PVS) cannot be a valid stand-alone voting identification document on the ground of its misuse since PVSs are printed after the finalization of the roll and distributed just close to the poll day through Booth Level Officers (BLO) and it also does not incorporate any security feature.
In the press note released by the ECI also directed to all the electors that electors whose Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) have been issued has to produce it at the time of adult franchise.
Electors who do not have EPIC can produce either a Passport, Driving License, Service Identity Card with Photograph issued by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Ltd. Companies, Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office, PAN Card, Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR, MNREGA Job card, Health Insurance Smart Card under the Scheme of Ministry of Labour, Pension document with Photograph, Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs or Aadhaar Card for establishing their identity at the time of casting their votes, it added.
Overseas electors shall have to produce their original passport only for identification, the release said.
