Rahul Gandhi arrives for Lok Sabha poll campaign launch

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 19, 2019: Congress president Rahul Gandhi today arrived in Imphal to launch campaign for the ensuing Lok Sabha election. He will be addressing a public rally to be held at Hapta Kangjeibung on Wednesday.
He paid floral tribute to honour the Anglo-Manipuri war heroes at Shaheed Minar as soon as he reached Imphal.
He also visited Ima Kethel where he was was warmly received by women vendors.
Congress Bhawan compund and its surrounding streets in Imphal city were crowded by Congress supporters who thronged to welcome the Congress leaders.
A meeting was held with Congress leaders at Congress Bhawan in the evening.
Ahead of the public rally Rahul will have a conversation programme with Manipur students at the auditorium of Manipur State Film Development Society.
Congress Legislature Party leader Okram Ibobi Singh and MPCC president Gaikhangam in the morning inspected the arrangements preparef at Hapta Kangjeibung where Rahul Gandhi would address the public gathering.
“Gandhi-Nehru family has good concern of Manipur and northeast region and always responded to the request of the people to visit the region. The public rally will end before 1pm tomorrow and he will leave Imphal”, Ibobi told reporters.
He appealed the people to attend the rally.
Gaikhangam said, “People keep saying if BJP continues to govern the nation will be ruined. BJP will hardly win 200 seats in the Lok Sabha election.”
