Drug smugglers arrested along with 2 kgs of brown sugar

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 27, 2019: A team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border Imphal, Manipur acting on specific information were able to arrest two drug smugglers from Thoubal Athokpam Electricity Department Gate on Tuesday evening around 5:45 pm, said a press statement released by Superintendent of Police/NAB W. Basu Singh, MPS.

The arrested persons have been identified as Md. Azad Khan (45 yrs), son of (L) Md. Nasimmuddin of Moijing Thongjao, Thoubal District and Abdul Noor (58 yrs), son of (L) Md. Raja of Yairipok Ningthou Nai, Imphal East.

The statement further said that 2 kgs of heroin powder (brown sugar) along with other incriminating articles were also seized from their possessions. A case has been registered at Narcotics and Affairs Border Imphal Manipur Police Station.
