Amit Shah campaigns Manipur

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 6, 2019: The BJP government has initiated a railway girder bridge in Manipur which would become the world’s tallest bridge, BJP president Amit Shah said while saying Imphal- Jiribam railway construction will be completed by 2021.

He was adressing at an election rally at Wangjing Kodompokpi Lampak in Thoubal on Friday.

“Construction of the world’s tallest bridge at Noney is underway. People from different parts of the world will come to Manipur to witness the bridge,” Shah said.

The past government could not complete the Imphal-Jiribam railway project that was taken up by Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003. It will be completed by 2021, he added.

He said Modi government has completed construction of 300 km long road in Manipur.

The government has constructed five helipads in Manipur to connect with interior hill areas of Manipur. It has also started taking up programmes for expansion of Imphal airport with cargo terminals, he said.

Be it road connectivity, air connectivity or IT connectivity, NE has been given priority by the Modi government. Whole of the NE region will be made an important part of India by 2022, he added.

Five hundred youths have been benefitted under Start up in Manipur. Another 500 youths will be benefitted. Under the “go to Village” and “Go to Hills ” missions Biren Singh government has reached 2630 villages out of 2700 villages, he said.

The Prime Minister has taken up works for construction of three new women markets in Manipur, he added.

In the small state of Manipur 8.3 lakhs has been provided cooking gas connections, he said.

Manipur is the land of sports where Mary Kom, the pride of the country was born. Modi government had initiated National Sports University here, he said.

Modi has increased case award to sports stars who bring medals for the country from Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. Ayushman Bharat Yojana has provided has started providing Rs 5 lakhs each to patients of critical illness, he said.

Modi has made India India a secured nation. The government had destroyed terrorist camps in Pakistan in reply to the killing of 40 japan’s, Shah said.

Modi will become Prime Minister again. The election is contested between Modi led powerful party and party led by Rahul Gandhi. Since 2014 after Modi came to power various projects have been taken up continuously, he said.

Modi says he is the Chowkidar of the country. But Biren Singh  (Manipur chief minister )  was already a Chowkidar. Manipur is now secured. There was 160 days blockade during the past government. When Biren becomes the chief minister the blockade was ended and eased the sufferings of the people from high prices of essential commodities. The success of Biren is due to the support of the Prime Minister, Shah said.

Biren said the world is watching on what direction Modi is taking India to. The division among people of different is brought to an end. Modi will remain as Prime Minister with the vision of One Bharat, he added.

About 10 thousand people gathered in the rally.
