Show cause notice to Joykishan

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 6, 2019: Office of the Returning Officer, 1-inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency today served a show cause notice to Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson MLA Khumukcham Joykishan to clarify on his statement published in some local dailies on April 3.

The show cause notice served by returning officer Naorem Praveen Singh said in inviting a reference to the press conference given by Joykishan on April 2, which was published on the next day in news items of some of the leading newspapers the allegation of violation of Model Code of Conduct in this regard made by one Salam Rajen Singh, personal secretary to chief minister, Manipur in his representation on April 3 received at 8:20 pm on the same day.

It asked Joykishan to show cause as to whythe statements made in the press conference are not in violation of the Model code of conduct enforced in the state of Manipur in connection with the General Elections to 17th Lok Sabha-2019.

A written clarification shouid be submitted to the undersigned within 48 hours of receipt of this notice without fail, the notice said.
