Miscreants fired rounds of bullets

Pothashang News Service: Imhpal, April 10, 2019: Some unidentified persons fired four rounds of bullets at the resident of one Md. Miland khan (37 yrs), son of (L) Md. Kumaruddin of Kshetri Bengoon Awang Leikai in Kshetrigao A/C, Imphal East at around 2 am on Wednesday.However, there are no reports of any casualty.

Condemning the incident, members of Kshetri Bengoon Awang Leikai Muslim Welfare Association and Meiba Paibi staged a sit-in protest on Wednesday afternoon.

Speaking to media persons, Rashida Begum, member of the organisation said, Miland Khan is a daily wage labourer and so far no wrong or any harm have been done or committed by him in the locality neither in our society.

She condemned the cowardly act of attacking Md. Miland Khan and his family.

She also said, if Miland have done wrong or committed any crime, it should be let known to the local club and maira paibi or to the police, so that timely action can be taken up instead of taking the law in hand.

She expressed doubt that the unidentified persons might be outsider as the locals didn’t find any human or vehicular movement right after the shooting.

They demanded clarification about the incident at the earliest and appeal not to repeat such act in future in residential areas.

Apart from bullet holes on the wall, there were bullet holes at the water filter and pressure cooker kept inside the house of Md. Miland Khan.
