Heptulla becomes first Manipur governor to exercises franchise in Imphal

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 18, 2018: Manipur governor Najma Heptulla, the first governor to have her name included in the voters’ list of the state, today exercised her franchise in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency for the 17th Lok Sabha Election at Tamphasana Girls Secondary School – 11/34 Old Lambulane (B) polling station.

Heptulla told the reporters that election should be voted freely without any fear. She encouraged all to exercise their adult franchise as it contributes in nation’s building and formation of responsible government.

Chief electoral officer, Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh, state nodal officer, media and communication, W. Phajatombi Devi, SDO, Lamphel, Dr. M. Veto Singh and concerned officials were also present.

Heptulla was earlier enrolled in New Delhi. She moved her voting constituency to Imphal. She is now enrolled in the Sagolband Assembly Constituency.
