Students demand to get missing girl

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 25, 2019: Joint Students’ Co-ordinating Committee (JSCC) has demanded to find out the missing of a 14 years old girl and to book the culprit(s) involved in her missing within 15 days.
The students commitee cautioned to take up agitations if the government fails to take necessary measures within the deadline.
Convenor of JSCC, Manjit Sarangthem during a news conference held today at the head office of All Manipur Students’ Union said the minor girl has been missing since December 31 last year.
On that day she caled at the family members and told that she has been eloped with one Md. Aslam, 21, son of Md. Zuma Khan residence of Pangong Makhong, Imphal. Since then she has been untraceable, he added,
Manjit said in connection with the missing of the minor girl the family member lodged a complaint at Sekmai police on January 2. After the complaint has been lodged the concern police station failed to take any necessary action other than mere interrogation on Zuma Khan, said Manjit.
Many crimes have been committed in the state, but some of them have been solved instantly. But for a poor family police do not bother to take necessary action instantly. If the case is handled cautiously she would have been traced easily, Manjit added.
He alleged that it is suspicious of human trafficking and Aslam could be involved in the case.
Manjit told reporters that the issue was remain hidden by the familt due to the fear of social stigma but with the untimely act of police the issue has been brought at JSCC to get support.
