Two KSO volunteers arrested

The school was burned down on April 25 at around 9: 50 pm by unknown miscreants suspected to be volunteers of Kuki Students’ Organisation (Gunpi Block), Chandel district, a press statement released by Manipur Police said on Friday.
It said on receipt of the information, Kakching District Police with Fire Brigade of Sugnu and Kakching rushed to control the fire. In the fire, one class room block including office of the School principal were totally gutted. The approximate value of the loss will be about 35,29,0001- (Rupees thirty five lakh twenty nine thousand)only, it added.
During preliminary investigation, involvement of the volunteers of KSO was highly suspected, it said.
This has been substantiated by the fact
that the ultimatum given to the school from the KSO which was found pasted at the gate of the school was also noticed and the copy recovered. During further investigation, it is revealed that KSO have demanded the school authority to revoke the suspension of six students who have been suspended because of indiscipline by the school authority to which the school authority denied resulting the KSO to issue the dictate of closure of the school with effect from April 25, the police statement said.
It may be mentioned that the school authority did not concede to the demand of the KSO and continued to resume normal classes which prompted the KSO to burn the school, it added.
During investigation, as the involvement of KSO was suspected, volunteers of KSO have been arrested, it said. They were David Jamminlen Baite, 30, secretary education, KSO, Gunpi Block, Chandel district and Thangkhanlal Haokip, 26, information secretary, KSO, Gunpi Block, Chandel district.
Investigation of the case is on, the police statement said.
