‘No FIR against NSCN-IM’

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 15, 2019: No FIR was lodged against NSCN-IM over the April 6 Senapati incident that during an election rally.

This was said by Manipur Lok Sabha outer candidate of North East India Party (NEIDP), Asang Kasar at a news conference held at the head office of the party located at Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak, Imphal West.

On April 6, a public meeting in connection with election campaign was held at a community hall in Senapati bazaar. In the midst of the programme, some individuals approached and allegedly demanded to cancel the programme as no prior permission was sought from them.

After the programme ended, the same individuals who were waiting for Asang threatened him for organising the occasion without their consent and even allegedly tried to take him along with them.

Asang said situation compelled to head towards Senapati SP, made a verbal complaint and sought for additional escort upto Kangpokpi. “I and the party did not file any FIR against any individual including NSCN-IM”, he added.

In connection with the incident, some people have spread rumours against him and his party, and tried to mislead the people including other political parties, he said.

NEIDP and NPF are regional parties, and do not want to have any misunderstandings between the parties as both works for regionalism.
