Manipur board exam result to declare on Saturday

Pothashang News Service : Imphal, May 16, 2019: Result of high school leaving certificate examination 2019 will be declared on Saturday  (May 18), education minister Th. Radheshyam said.

The minister said this while giving clarification to a news report in which Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur alleged that government’s ‘go to school’ mission has failed.

There is  no ‘go to school’ mission but there is ‘school Fagathansi’ mission. The allegation came while the government is moving forward for improvement of quality education, he added.

Talking to reporters at his office chamber at new secretariat, he said ‘school fagathansi’ mission was initiated at Yumnam Huidrom by selecting 60 government schools from 60 constituencies as a pilot project. Under the mission government targets to look after not only school building but has to look after other necessary equipments that a school should possess. He said the state cabinet had decided to recruit 120 teachers for the mission and the teachers will be recruited after end of election model code of conduct.

As compared to the past years present pass percentage in higher secondary examination has increased and even government higher secondary schools are included in rank holders which is the sign of development of government schools, the minister said.

Government has started construction of seven residential schools which cost about 2 crores each construction will complete soon.

He appealed the people not try to defame ‘school fagathansi’ before implementing properly. Instead of that people need to co-operate to promote school sector of the state. People can make their complaint at concern ZEOs, education director and other officials instead of blaming which may demoralise students, Radheshyam added.
